How to deal with online 'trolls'?
How to Deal with Online 'trolls'? (social media offence)
Social media is where they grow and thrive. Funny as it is because you can hardly encounter them in real life... Not so much false courage.
Who are 'trolls'?
They are like bullies in real life but much more active and more miserable. Usually mentally estranged. Bored with their own petty existence, little cowards, living off of other people lives. Devouring energy, little scumbags, not even worth mentioning. They need social attention to justify their existence.
Well, they may be simply 'bots', automatic responses to a particular topic. All the same. Miserable people behind. Want their miserable agenda promoted. What they only want is a little social attention to get you into a state of alienation.
And how would you react?
One of the greatest personalities in British television is afraid of them. Stephen Fry in the Graham Norton Show (24 Nov 2018) mentioned he is scared of 'trolls'. He explained:
When water in a pool is 90 per cent clear -
(analogy to the 90 per cent positive responses he has on Twitter)
- there is still 10 per cent of scum going to foul the clarity of water...
Point taken?
Not exactly.
Stephen Fry is a very lucky guy (and gay) having such a low social media discomfort. Everyone out there with some fame status has much more trouble with the unpleasantness of nasty comments.
Our society has always been a mix of extremely different ingredients: different personalities, points of view, lifestyles.
Brutish, vicious, harsh and rough - that is what life is. For the more mature individuals, it is only 10 per cent of their perception. For the less mature rest, life is utterly chaotic, where cruelty dominates their scale of vision.
Human beings, in general, are nice, supportive and lovely, as much as they can. Let's appreciate the 90 per cent of them. The rest is just what Nature is.
***
As I truly like and admire Stephen Fry's wit, I do not wish anyone to follow such over-sensitivity, that is coming out of a misunderstanding of the basics of human nature.
Don't bother with 'trolls'. You can eat them all for a breakfast.
Unless you are one. Then choke yourself.

It is difficult to comprehend why an intelligent person can be unaware of this component and even more - scared of the negative consequences of the modern age humdrum of online commentary Is it so difficult to differentiate between critical feedback and utter negligent nonsense?
Humanity is a variety; Nature is dirty by design. Clean-water-in-a-pool does not exist. There always be scum. Life, in general, in a detail, and in essence - is harsh and filthy. Because it's NATURE.

Humans are part of it.
Have you watched David Attenborough's recent documentaries? They have stirred quite a reaction - being too extensive and detailed-specific on the 'brutality' of the living organisms. A beast devouring a puppy. How can this be?

People living far away from "nature", suffer from the Nature Deficit Disorder. They take life as a nice and pleasant journey only, through merry-go-round life cycles, wearing blinkers. The inlying cruelty of life is unnatural to them.
