River of Light 2022 - Liverpool
The River of Light - Liverpool Waterfront (21 October to 6 November 2022)
In continental Europe, there is growing fear of power cuts before the upcoming winter and cities and towns are looking to save money on the street and Christmas lights.
In Liverpool - quite the contrary. The outdoor illuminated gallery on Liverpool Waterfront returned - with a full glow.
With more lights and illuminations than before.
There were ten artworks across a two kilometres loop, that featured light and sound installations from local, national and international artists.
It was crowded, noisy and very cheerful. The interest of visitors probably exceeded the expectations of the organizers. A very successful event.
Proof, that - in times of the announced and impending crisis, inflation and budget cuts, Liverpool knows how to spend public money :-). The city has always been standing out in a sort of rebellious way - 'No one will tell us what to do and how to behave'.
Here - live fun loving people - they will not break their necks over some made-up, airy fairy 'financial crisis', as they know it so well - that crisis has always been part of their life, and that government tells lies, and then implements those lies to show that they were truths.
So, anyway, here we go on the artistic leg:
