George Harrison's 80th Birthday Celebration LIVERPOOL George's birthday was celebrated in several places in Liverpool on the day (25.02.2023) he would be 80 years old. Gurudas answered questions, signed books, shared his memories connected to George Harrison. The Hare Krishna Movement - street chanting and performing. In 1970, George produced the Radha Krishna Temple album with the devotees, a track from which featured in the top ten record sales in that year. They've always appreciated what George did for them and the movement. 'Refugees Welcome Here' in Liverpool

After a recent outbreak   of hate  in  Knowsley, part of metropolitan Liverpool -  towards people coming to the UK to seek support and refuge - h undreds of Liverpooldians gathered on the plateau in front of St George's Hall (mid February 2023). This place has seen many gatherings - starting with workers rights and the Suffragettes in the early 1900s.   This time - showing the stance against racial prejudice and support for those who need to flee their homes because of the unfair, unjust and harmful politics - the asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. The protest was an answer to the infamous riots outside the Suites Hotel in the Knowsley area of the city on February 10, widely reported on national TV.   We do not know the details but it appears that some groups feel disadvantaged to the presence of foreign people living in a hotel while the folks living around Merseyside struggle to have the ends meet.  In some ways  - it ...
